Not Your Ordinary Chair

Art

Everyone always seems to have a "chair" that they claim as their own. My grandfather (called Gran-Gran which was my version of grandfather) had "his" chair, Dad had a gold recliner, Mom had a covered rocker that has rocked four generations, I had a little wooden black rocking chair as a child and now I have a blue recliner and Alyssa had and has many chairs! Maybe it is something in my family, but a "chair" is often sentimental.

I'm not sure if these chairs are sentimental, but they definitely are artistic.

Which is your favorite? I think I would be scared of the "Growing Chair," but I totally love the little man on "This Chair Construction."

With my little black rocking chair, I used to kneel in front of it, look through the spokes in the back of the chair, and pretend to be a "bank lady." I used my Monopoly money and pieces of paper that I had drawn to look like money. The great thing is that I had it out for Alyssa when she was younger and without me even telling her, one day she started playing "bank lady" through the spokes with Monopoly money. I still can't believe that we both did the same exact thing!

Hi, I've seen you around in comment boxes everywhere and I'm finally visiting you. I like your blog very much. You know I missed being a redhead by inches! My mother has red hair, I have brown hair but my hair has a touch of auburn. Anyway, I liked those chairs a lot especially the ones with a reclining position built in.

It would be nice if you could look in on my blogs sometime.

I actually really love the growing chair, it's so pretty. I'd be afraid of attracting bugs or something though. And I absolutely LOVE the twisty one that looks like a deck in the tornado. Barca it was, I think. I could nest in that one. :) The circular one at the end is neat too. This makes me want to decorate!

The chair made of all the dolls kinda weirds me out. The wooden chairs by Julia Krantz are beautiful.

The chair construction one has my sister's name written all over it.

Me? I like the tub and the splash! I like the pod, too. The idea of reading in the tub without getting pruny is most appealing.

I don't think I could handle sitting in the gravity chair. Now, the pod chair looks neat though.

Those are some very interesting chairs, indeed. I wouldn't mind trying each one out except the one made with the dolls. That's kind of scary! LOL

I like the hand and foot chair. I could always use an extra hand and I'm always putting my foot in my mouth.

Wow! These were so cool!! I love some of those wooden ones---my hubby has made a few cool ones of his own. He is a cabinetmaker that also builds furniture....

Those are a bunch of ugly chairs. Worse, they don't look comfy. The only one I thought looked cool was the terrarium chair.
